Students at Blue Hills Adult Education Program collected a wonderful variety of hats, gloves, mittens and scarves for local families in need as part of their yearly community outreach. “We are so grateful to be a part of the Dedham community and this collection is our way of showing our appreciation,” says Tammy MacDonald, Blue Hills Adult Education Program Coordinator.
The Blue Hills Adult Education Program, funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Education, has been located at the Capen building in Dedham since 2019. The program offers free classes in Adult Secondary Education (ASE) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The primary goal for ASE students is to pass the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) or GED and thus earn an equivalent high school credential. The primary goal for ESOL students is to improve their English language skills. Learning focuses on career and college readiness.
