Blue Hills Adult Education (BHAE), located at Blue Hills Regional Technical School, has helped adults build skills and reach their educational and career goals since 1997. We offer free English classes, academic classes, high school equivalency preparation, and education and career advising to adults in Dedham, Norwood, Canton, and surrounding communities.
Whether you want to improve your English, strengthen your reading, writing, and math skills, prepare for your GED or HiSET, or explore new career opportunities, we are here to help you take the next step.
How do I sign up for classes?
New students should complete our Contact Form.
After we receive your form, a staff member will contact you to schedule an appointment and explain the next steps. All new students must complete a placement test so we can help determine which class is the best fit.
Our free classes fill quickly. Depending on availability, you may be placed on a waiting list.
Which classes should I sign up for?
We offer two main types of classes.
English Classes (ESOL)
These classes are for adults who want to learn or improve their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Academic and High School Equivalency Classes (ABE/ASE)
These classes are for adults who want to strengthen their reading, writing, and math skills or prepare to earn a high school equivalency credential through the GED or HiSET.

When do classes start?

How much do classes cost?
All classes are free. Our program is funded through a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
What are the class hours?
We offer morning and evening classes, both in person and remotely. Class availability depends on the program and level.
